As a teacher in Alaska you are required to complete 6 semester hours of credit every 5 years to renew your standard secondary teaching certificate. Up to 3 of those hours can be non-academic credit. 15 clock hours of non-academic credit are equal to 1 semester hour.
You may now be able to earn 1 clock hour of non-academic credit for every Flinn Scientific Best Practices for Teaching Chemistry eLearning Video Series package that you complete. Please contact your district or administrator first if they require pre-approval for professional development activities. You may also need to request a non-academic pre-approval form from your district.
Once you have finished viewing all episodes of a video package, simply print and complete the post activity assessment form below to keep with your records. You may then select a video package from the dropdown box below and print a Documentation of Professional Development form. Note: You will only be able to print a documentation form for any video that you have watched in its entirety.
Consult your state Department of Education website for any details or changes in certificate renewal policy.
To view and print the Documentation of Professional Development for a video package, you must be logged in.
