As a teacher in Massachussetts you are required to complete 150 Professional Development Points (PDP) every 5 years to renew your educator license.
You may now be able to earn 1 clock hour of professional development credit for every Flinn Scientific Best Practices for Teaching Chemistry eLearning Video Series package that you complete. In Massachussetts your school and/or district are approved providers of professional development credit. Flinn Scientific can provide documentation of completion for you and your school or district and in most cases they should be able to issue credit for the course. Please consult your professional development coordinator before beginning a video package to make sure they will issue credit upon completion.
Once you have successfully completed one of our Best Practices for Teaching Chemistry eLearning video packages, you will have the option to select that title from the dropdown box below and print a Documentation of Professional Development form. This document will include a list of the topics that were covered in your training and the total running time of the videos.
Flinn Scientific is not able to issue credit directly to teachers in the state of Massachussetts, but either your school or your district should be able to provide you with credit for completing this important and unique chemistry training. A program sample that explains the type of material that is covered in the course is available for you to print on our main professional development page.
After you have finished viewing all episodes of a video package, simply print and complete the post activity assessment form below to keep with your records. You may then select a video package from the dropdown box below and print a Documentation of Professional Development form. Note: You will only be able to print a documentation form for any video that you have watched in its entirety.
You may consult your state Department of Education website for any details or changes in certificate renewal policy. http://www.doe.mass.edu/
